Cassidy's party

Cassidy had a wonderful birthday party. The girl has been so spoiled this last week! First of all, last week we had a birthday party with her cousins and Baba (steves grandma) then on saturday night she went for a sleepover at her other cousins and got more birthday surprises and then on tuesday we went to Brandon to have another birthday party with the Grandparents. We even had her old friends from Brandon come before the moved away to BC.

Liam loved the balloons and they were attached to him most of the night.

My second attempt at her princess cake. I think this one turned out better then the first.

Enjoying supper with Caleb and Victoria

Everyone else enjoying supper.

Cassidy displaying her princess sleeping beauty outfit she recieved from her friends. She will not take it off.

I had to stick this picture in here. I am not sure if anyone remembers the picture that my sister Jamie had of herself when she was young in the big bottle type glasses. Well, this picture reminded me of that pic.

Happy Birthday Sleeping Beauty

Today marks Cassidy's third birthday. Wow, three years have gone by so fast. Cassidy Anna was born at 11:50 am on friday Sept. 26, 2003. She was 6 pounds, 6 1/2 ounces and 20 7/8 inches long. She had red hair and blue eyes (and still has both!) I still remember the day of her birth and how excited we were when she found out she was a girl. She was a planned c-section at 38 weeks because of an irritable uterus during the pregnancy and other complications. Let's just say I was very excited to have her out.

Cassidy has turned into our princess. She lives in a world consumed with pink, princess, glitter and barbie. Her new obsession is Sleeping beauty. She is a very tall girl for her age and is often mistaked for being a lot older then she is. She also loves to chatter and her vocabulary is coming along quite well for a three year old. She just started Ballet this last saturday and it is rather amusing watching her little ballet class. She was so enthrawled with everything her teacher had to say and loved every minute.

We already celebrated her birthday with her cousins last week at a small party. Here is a picture of her barbie sleeping beauty cake.
Today we are off to Brandon to celebrate her second party at Grandma's house. I will share some photos of both of her parties next time.

Here are some pictures from over the years. . .

a quick update . . . .

We have been busy as usual ever since we arrvied home from our trip. Aidan has started his school and cries the mornings he doesn't go. He loves it and it is a nice break for us. I really look forward to kindergarten next year when he will go more.
Cassidy had her very first dentist appointment and it didn't go as well as i hoped. She would not lay down and i had to lay down on the chair with her. The dentist was excellent though and convinced her to open her mouth where they found one cavity, which we already assumed she had. She goes next week for her filling so you can pray that will all go smoothly.
Aidan had his spacer put in his mouth yesterday for the tooth that was pulled. This willl allow his adult teeth to come in the right spot. He was in alot of pain because they worked on him for a long time.
Liam is running around and jabbering like crazy. His new thing is to shake his finger and say 'stop that' which i think he learned from me.
My parents came for a visit this week as well which was good for the kids who had missed Granny and Grandpa.
Fall is here and we know winter is just around the corner. We really are not looking forward to driving here in winter. I dont like Winnipeg drivers to begin with (no offence to anyone) I am sure we will adjust just fine.
Cassidy's birthday is also coming up in two weeks. Hard to believe she will be THREE. We have decided to hold her two small parties rather then one big. One here and one in Brandon. I asked her the other day if she wanted a princess party and she said no. Only sleeping beauty was allowed to come.

Edmonton

As promised, here is a summery of our trip in pictures. We left on sunday night at midnight. It was a long drive and Liam was up most of the night, although he didn't make a peep, just stared outside. He did finally fall asleep. The trip went by pretty fast and we arrived early afternoon at our hotel. We spent the rest of the day at the mall and swimming at the hotel. The kids admiring the famous ship inside West Edmonton mall. The were rather amazed with how it was inside.

The big whale statue the kids explored.
Back at the hotel the kids are making themselves at home. Those who know Aidan knows all about his obsession with cars.
Cassidy reading as usual.
The next day we spent the morning at IKEA which took forever to find (i guess I am not good at giving directions) The kids loved it because there was a supervised playarea we could just drop them off. Too bad we don't have one of those here. The afternoon we went to the Waterpark at the mall. The kids played all afternoon until they couldn't keep there eyes open. The waterpark was slow since school just started. There were lots of kiddy things to do there. I had not been there for years and forgot who much stuff they had.

Liam after returning from the Waterpark. As you can see he was zonked. The next day we went exploring the mall again. The kids were enthrawled with the skaters at the icerink.
We spent that afternoon at Fantasy Land. I think this was there favorite part since this is all they talk about.

Liam's first ride. He loved it.

I stuck the kids on this little rollercoster by themself. It actually went pretty fast and there reaction was priceless.
enjoying some icecream at Mcdonalds for a snack.

The last thing we did was check out the sealion show. Cassidy had been asking about these all day.

Thursday morning we headed home. On the way out on the yellowhead, we witnessed a huge collision with three semis, one truck and one little car. we were right behind it and thankgoodness we were not involved. It was insane and the vehicles were pretty smucked. Thursday was a really long day of driving. Coming home took alot longer then we would have liked but we made it home at about one in the morning on friday.
it was a quick vacation but worth getting away and having a good time. The kids enjoyed it and are already asking when they can go back.
Friday morning Aidan had his first day of school. It wasn't an official day, more like a get to know the teacher/tour day. I think he will really enjoy it and was already excited because he made some new friends already. His class will be smaller then it was in Brandon and his days are a little longer.
