Steve's new job

For those of you are wondering, I have some more information on Steve's new job. He works weekends and has his weekend days off during the week. His shifts are 1-9 on weekdays and 9-5 on weekends. He is in charge of the trucks that deliver the packages. He has alot of responsibility and he is glad to get out of his 'monkey work' factory job. He recives a significant pay raise and more holiday time, which we hope to take advantage of. He is called an 'acting' supervisor right now. I guess all supervisors that start are not permanent until there 2 month or so starting period is up, then if they did a good job they move into permanent. So right now it is trial. The neat thing about this is no one has ever moved into a supervisor position the way Steve just walked into it. They go through a whole interview and training process but because of the glowing report from his boss, he was able to skip right into a position. So you can all pray for him as he faces many challenges with this job. It sounds like it could be stressful but it is also a chance for him to prove to them what he can do so he can keep climbing the ladder. The whole new job thing excites as as well since we hope in the future to sell this house and finally settle into our home we stay in for a very long time.

Good news. . .

We have some good news to share with everyone. First of all, Aidan passed his first swimming lessons. This is a huge deal to us because the first day he refused to do anything, he wouldn't even put his face in the water. By the end he was swimming like a pro and is already asking when he gets to go to the 'bigger boy' class!
Second good news is Steve moved to a new position at work. You could say it was a promotion. Not to long ago he applied for a supervisor becuase they were hireing a whole bunch, but he never recived a callback and was rather discouraged from it. When his bosses at work found out he never got called back, they put a good word in and today he got a phonecall that he starts work as a supervisor on monday. He has come a long way since we moved to Winnipeg. 6 months ago we didn't even know if he would have a job or much future with Canada post and didn't know if moving to Winnipeg would do much good and now he is a supervisor. Obviously it was the work of God.
Adjustment to the city is still taking time. I am not exactly attached to our new home yet and we really miss our big yard. But we at least know we will only live here a very short time. The way the whole job thing has worked out has been such a blessing because lately we have felt like so many curve balls have been thrown our way.

Camping trip

We enjoyed another fun filled weekend. We headed up to St.Malo and camped along side Steve's family for the weekend. The kids had a blast hanging out with there cousins. The temperature again reached scorching highs and we spent most of the time cooling off at the beach. Cassidy had heat stroke on saturday night which made for a 'not so fun' night but she recovered and was out on the beach on sunday. Here are some pics that I took and some that Sherri passed along to me.

The kids played alot in the dirt with there cars and trucks.

Enjoying a camp fire. Steve's Baba was able to come join us for part of the weekend.

Here we are getting ready to have some birthday cake to celebrate Grandma's birthday.

The kids enjoying a little water fight trying to beat the heat!

another normal day. . .

Here are a few every day pics from our household. Liam has finally figured out the whole walking thing and is getting better and more confident every day, although if he wants something really bad, he still resorts to crawling. You may notice the nice big scar on his forehead. He decided he wanted to 'kiss' the concrete one day! Silly boy.
Aidan started swimming lessons this week and after a few days of getting used to it, he is now enjoying it. As well, we are off camping this weekend again.

Splash Island

Yesterday we took a trip out to Potage La Prarie and went to there water park 'Splash Island'. To anyone who has not heard of it, it is a small waterpark that is fairly new and is only about $13 to take an entire family for the day. We met up with the Miltons from Brandon to celebrate there little boy Caleb's 4th birthday. It was again a hot, sweltering day and we are all rather red from it but overall it was a great place to take the kids and we look forward to going again sometime.

Here is Liam enjoying the cool water! He loved sitting in his floaty and almost fell asleep in it.

Time for some spiderman birthday cake!!

The Milton's new baby girl Isabella.
After having a long swim, we took a walk to a park nearby before we left for home.

I think the kids have missed there playmates. Especially Caleb and Aidan who were inseperable the entire time.

day at the beach.

As most of you may have noticed by now, we like to keep busy as a family. Especially since the weather has been so hot. Here in Winnipeg we haven't had rain for a long time so I think a rainy day would do us some good.
We took the kids to Birds Hill park Beach on Tuesday since Steve had a day off. The water was warm and the kids had fun splashing. Steve built them a big sand fort and they played forever.
We buried the kids in sand. They thought it was pretty neat.

This weekend is supposed to be a scorcher and we are meeting up with friends from Brandon in Portage La Prarie and checking out there 'Spash Island' water park. I of course will bring the camera and have lots of pics to share! The next weekend we are off to St. Malo with Steve's family and then our trip to Edmonton is coming up as well!

Another hot summer day. . .

We again are experiencing very hot and dry weather. Here are some pics of our weekend.
Saturday Steve had to work so the kids played outside as well as we visited a local wading pool
This first pic shows the new fence that Steve built last week. I am glad to know dogs will not be digging through our garbage anymore. The next project will be ripping up the deck. The yard has alot of work yet and many things may have to wait till next summer.

Here are the kids enjoying the wading pool at the 'bronx' park. Even though the water was cold, it didn't stop the kids from getting right on in. Liam even enjoyed it which was surprising since he hates the pool at home.

Miss Sadie

I am so glad that I finally got to meet you. Your even more beautiful in person then in your pictures. I am sorry if I scratched you or poked you in the face. I just was so caught up in your beauty I didn't know how to behave.
Please can I come visit you again soon?
Love Liam
